February 11, 2010, Rutherford, N.J. - Ceva has announced that it has entered into an agreement with MWI Veterinary Supply, Inc. to distribute Vectra® products in all 50 states. MWI, based in Meridian, Idaho, sells more than 30,000 products sourced from over 500 vendors to more than 20,000 veterinary practices nationwide.
“We are very excited to be deepening our relationship with one of the largest and most successful wholesale distributors of animal health products in the U.S.,” commented Julia Stephanus, Ceva's Vice President for Global Companion Animal Marketing. “With MWI's impressive track record and team of skilled sales professionals, veterinarians will be able to make an educated decision on which flea and tick product is best for their patients.”
Jim Cleary, President and Chief Executive Officer of MWI, commented, “We believe the relationship with Ceva will strengthen the MWI commitment to veterinarians. The alignment of the philosophies of Ceva and MWI in the areas of product quality, commitment to the veterinary industry and dedication to customer satisfaction makes this partnership an excellent match.”
“MWI takes pride in maintaining long-term customer relationships. We are confident that with the Vectra® lineup of parasiticide products, veterinarians can be assured that their clients will be receiving maximum protection for their pets based on the latest technology,” explained Cleary.
MWI will be joining other distributors as an authorized veterinary distributor for Ceva’s products. In addition to a powerful distribution network, Ceva is continuing to work with its co-promotion partner, Abbott Animal Health, to represent the Vectra portfolio of products.
Ceva offers unique veterinarian-dispensed ectoparasiticidal topicals for companion animals. Vectra 3D®, a broad-spectrum topical with dinotefuran, a third-generation neonicotinoid, effectively protects dogs against six vectors – fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, sand flies, lice (biting and sucking) and mites. Vectra for Dogs & Puppies™, Vectra for Cats & Kittens™ and Vectra for Cats® feature a combination of dinotefuran and pyriproxyfen that delivers rapid, effective and complete flea control (all flea life stages: eggs, larvae, pupae and adults for dogs, puppies, cats and kittens).
Ceva continues their commitment to Bloodhound® Technology – an innovative, proprietary track-and-trace system backed by the power of an anti-diversion agreement to ensure veterinary exclusivity and authenticity of the Vectra products. Ms. Stephanus states, “MWI and all authorized distributors have installed the Bloodhound® Technology system in their facilities and they have been validated to ensure that the integrity of our products is maintained through secure distribution channels.”
