April 24, 2012 – Lenexa, Kan. – As part of its leadership in the veterinary profession, Ceva Animal Health launched a spring consumer advertising campaign, a social media campaign, and several targeted sponsorships encouraging pet owners to schedule a visit at their veterinary clinic.
“Veterinary visits are at an all-time low, and more pets are now at risk for vector-borne diseases and behavior issues. If not treated properly, these issues could lead to relinquishment, or even worse, euthanasia,” said Craig Wallace, Chief Executive Officer and North America Zone Director of Ceva Animal Health. “Our campaigns are important reminders for pet owners that the veterinarian is the best source for sound medical care, advice and products.”
As flea and tick season emerges, Ceva’s “One Minute Flea & Tick Routine” Vectra® consumer campaign educates pet owners about how Ceva products can help keep pets safe and healthy, while also helping raise awareness of the essential role of veterinarians in pet care. Publications in which Ceva is advertising include Every Day with Rachael Ray, Martha Stewart Living, Coastal Living, Cat Fancy, Dog Fancy (print and digital), and online with MSNBC. The campaign is complemented by the newly re-launched VectraPet.com web site with a veterinarian locator.
To educate pet owners on behavior issues, Ceva continues to support the American Association of Feline Practitioner’s Cat-Friendly Practice Program that will include a consumer campaign. As a leading sponsor of this initiative, Ceva gives clinics free materials to educate cat owners on how they can make clinic visits easier. Ceva is also reinvigorating its Feliway® “Dear Tabby” social media platform and sponsoring Dr. Marty Becker’s 25-City Book Tour.
Finally, reinforcing Ceva’s mission to support the bond between animals and humans, the company continues its sponsorship of the training of “Ceva, the Future Leader Dog.” Ceva is a Labrador puppy who is undergoing training and will be matched to a person who is blind. Ceva is wearing a new Ceva Adaptil™ Collar with Braille lettering to help with her training. Ceva’s fans can follow her progress by visiting www.facebook.com/cevaleaderdog.
